Cosbert researches the consequences of subjugation and oppression and their historical and generational impact on the Black community.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRyan's abstract paintings create a sense of control using the grid format to apply what she calls \"tiles,\" forming layers with paints and physical objects that give the work more depth and a three-dimensional composition.
