At the start of this exhibition, it was vital for the artists to gather insights from scholars, community leaders, and former residents of The Bottom. During an information session with Dr. Enkeshi El-Amin, Erin drew inspiration from several key moments in their discussion. For the piece "House on Kings Alley," Erin was particularly influenced by Dr. El-Amin's remark: "Black people lived and worked and raised families and went to church and made Sunday dinners for generations in this place. "
