Brendon Reis
" I give new textures to Black and queer figures, creating an image that confronts the conception of normal and surreal."
Brendon Reis, also known as Brednatella, is a self-taught visual artist from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, now based in São Paulo. His work centers Blackness, sexuality, and intimacy, navigating the symbolic complexities of existence through a blend of realism and surrealism.
Reis offers fresh perspectives on Black and queer identity, weaving narratives that challenge conventional perception. Across his practice, themes of intimacy, melancholy, sexuality, identity, and homo-affection move between the ordinary and the extraordinary.
