Madison Lewis
"I see art making as an ongoing process for dismantling the harmful constructs and anti-Black violence I see and contend with, in order to make space for healing." Madison Lewis lives and works in New York. Her artistic practice uses Black radical theory as a framework for paintings and drawings.
Madison is primarily concerned with race in the digital frontier, the violence of imperial Christianity, and Black Americans' relationship to the American landscape. She holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Purchase College.
