In the initial phase of this exhibition, it was essential for the artists to access research from scholars, community leaders, and former residents of The Bottom. During an information session with Dr. Enkeshi El-Amin, Erin found inspiration in various parts of their conversation. For "Streets Turned Rivers," Erin was particularly struck by Dr. El-Amin's words: "And when the flooding came to the Bottom some streets became raging rivers putting on pause all activities."
