Zeshawn Luc

Zeshawn Luc (@zelucn) is a painter and fine artist who processes America's never-ending conflicts by allowing his work to pierce the political framework of what's socially acceptable. His neo-expressionistic paintings couple iconic imagery with ferocity in motion to capture how instability operates within contemporary issues, in the tradition of artists like Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Norman Lewis.

Born in Florida to a family of trade workers, Zeshawn is the only artist in his family, and though early artistic criticism could have shaped his work, his support system trusted his vision. Using sports and fashion, he reinforces the cultural significance of Black symbols to survey how status, stereotypes, and territorial identity operate under capitalism. Working within the physical limits of his early practice, such as being unable to paint over carpeted surfaces, Zeshawn learned to transform every available space into artistic ground.
