"Black Filmmakers"

"As a filmmaker, I was paid to do a short film and the producers backed out once they realized there were going to be black actors. This piece speaks to the historical snubbing with a little homage to the world of cinema. I subtly included figures like Sergei Eisenstein and Charlie Chaplin. The irony of my "black films" was that they were mostly inspired by silent filmmakers of the 20s, but the industry couldn't get past the race aspect to see what I was aiming to do."
