A Good Link-Up is exactly what it soundslike: two artists, one conversation, no agenda. In this episode, artists andfriends Darin Cooper and Julian Adón Alexander sit down to reflect on the yearbehind them, the accomplishments that shaped their careers, and where theirpractices are headed next. Less an interview, more a moment between two peoplewho came up together.
Both artists are School of Visual Arts alumni and part of the Good Black Art community. Cooper is a Virginia-born multidisciplinary artist working across photography, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, showing a more modern vision of Black Southern culture. Alexander is an illustrator known for candid portraits of Black and brown people in their everyday lives, and the author of Snakes Have Bones, his debut monograph published by Good Black Art and Parallel Press.
