DON'T SLEEP ON CANADA

Don’t Sleep on Canada

In August 2022, Don't Sleep on Canada presented a virtual group exhibition exploring the rich history, contributions, and perspectives of Black Canadians. The showcase also highlighted narratives from the artists' family origins around the world and the relationship of their lineage with Canada and beyond.

The exhibition paid homage to the nuanced stories seldom told about the Black Canadian experience, standing as a reminder not to sleep on the next generation of Black Canadian artists.

The exhibition featured Laurena Fineus, Yomi Orimoloye, and Sarah-Mecca Adourahman.
