“o eros” is one of the artist's many odes to venus; it is a call for love and passion. Bringing blessings of adoration, the subject's hair fills out to the borders of the wood block, alluding to that all consuming, falling head over heals feeling. The subject smiles to embrace it, though, as if she's been wishing for that moment. The piece is hung inverted to emphasize the helpessness of falling in love.
