In "Pepper's Ghost," the complexities of shame and self-perception are unraveled. The work playfully exposes the illusions we construct about ourselves, inviting viewers to find solace in the recognition that our perceived flaws and horrors may be nothing more than specters, trivial in the grand theater of our minds.

The title draws inspiration from the optical illusion technique used in theater known as Pepper's Ghost, where a ghostly figure seems to appear in a space through the clever use of reflections. In the painting, the ghosts are a reflection of the subjects ‘perceived insecurities’ through the powder mirror.
