Say His Name: George Floyd (May 25, 2020)
Apart of the Say Their Name series this work is focused on George Floyd. Assembled out of collaged portraits of George, black paint is thickly applied to parts of the portrait symbolizing both Black pride and the roughness that is associated to the stereotype of Black men. The alternative pieces depict a more realistic portrayal of George Perry Floyd Jr., a Black father and son who was killed by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2020.
