Adrian Armstrong (b. 1990, Omaha, Nebraska) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses drawing, painting, installation, and sound, documenting contemporary Black experiences in the United States. He's deeply interested in how these experiences intersect with the history of photography, portraiture, and collage, using friends, family members, and acquaintances as subjects to explore the influence of place and popular culture on self-image, community, and connection.

Adrian's primary medium is ballpoint pen combined with acrylic, at times incorporating lace and paper collage, often depicting himself as an "ordinary man" figure. He received his BFA from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2014 and now lives and works between Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA. He was the inaugural Jerry Manson Artist in Residence at Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking, a semifinalist for the Smithsonian's Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, and one of five Good Black Art alumni spotlighted in a Black History Month partnership with Sotheby's on Instagram. His work "BLACK OWNED" was featured in a Good Black Art benefit auction.
