Oyekale Segun
"My paintings expose how our perception of life is often impacted by the ideologies we carry around in our mind."
Oyekale OluwaSegun is a Nigerian artist born in the 1990s. He is an alum of Yaba College of Technology, where he studied alongside Samson Bakare, Wahab Saheed, Debayo Atanda, Kelani Abass, and several other rising stars.
Oyekale's creative inquiry uses the ocean as a metaphor for life's deeper questions: why are we here, what is the essence of life, and what is the meaning of it all. He has taken part in exhibitions and workshops including Alliance Française in Lagos and Paris, Brilliant Brush Gallery, and Christie's and Gallery at the Landmark's annual "ON DISPLAY."
